Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to every quotation issued and every order accepted by Oakio Woodworks Sdn. Bhd. (“Oakio”, “we”). Placing a deposit means you have read and accepted them. Nothing here removes the protections you hold under the Malaysian Consumer Protection Act 1999.

1. Quotations and drawings

Quotations are fixed for 30 days and itemise materials, hardware and installation. The 3D drawing issued after deposit is part of the contract: what is drawn and approved is what gets built. Revisions before production starts are free; changes after cutting begins are chargeable at cost.

2. Deposits and payment

Orders are confirmed with a 50% deposit. A further 40% falls due when the piece is ready for delivery (we send photos from the factory), and the final 10% on completed installation. Payment is by bank transfer or cheque to the company account named on the invoice; we never ask for payment to personal accounts.

3. Production and lead times

Quoted lead times run from drawing approval, not deposit date, and assume site readiness. Delays caused by site conditions — unfinished wet works, no lift access, denied entry times — extend the schedule day-for-day. If we are the cause of a delay beyond 14 days past the promised date, you may cancel undelivered items for a full refund of amounts paid on them.

4. Site access and preparation

You are responsible for ensuring walls can bear fixings, electrical points shown on drawings exist, and premises are accessible at the agreed time. Management approvals and renovation deposits at condominiums are the client's responsibility; we provide insurance and workman details on request.

5. Natural materials

Timber grain, knots and colour vary between boards and change with light exposure over time. Reasonable variation from a showroom sample or photograph is a property of the material, not a defect. Where exact colour continuity matters, tell us before production and we will select and photograph boards for your approval.

6. Ownership and risk

Goods remain Oakio's property until paid in full. Risk passes to you on installation. Items left uncollected or premises left inaccessible for more than 30 days after readiness notice may incur storage charges of RM 50 per week.

7. Warranty

Installed work carries a five-year workmanship warranty covering joints, hinges, drawer runners, laminate adhesion and alignment, with free service visits within the Klang Valley. Excluded: damage from misuse, water ingress, alterations by others, and ordinary wear of surfaces. The warranty is tied to the original installation address and invoice.

9. Liability

Our total liability under any order is capped at the contract value of that order. We are not liable for indirect losses such as delayed renovations by other trades, except where the law does not permit such a limit.

10. Disputes

These terms are governed by Malaysian law. We will always try a direct conversation first; unresolved disputes go to the Malaysian courts or, at the consumer's option for eligible claims, the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia.
